District 131 believes that athletics are an integral part of the total educational experience for boys and girls. We encourage all student athletes to broaden their skills, knowledge and citizenship by participating in school-sponsored athletic teams.

Athletics within District 131 are designed to develop the physical skills, positive self-image, confidence, leadership, teamwork and work ethic of student athletes. Under proper guidance, athletics is a powerful educational force, particularly in the development of social, moral and physical qualities of today’s youth. 

Waldo Athletic Events Procedures and Expectations
· Spectators from both teams sit in the north bleachers. (Across from the sports team’s bleachers).
· The Track is OFF limits.
· Waldo students must have their ID’s for all sports events. The adult supervisor on the east side of the gym should check ID’s.
· An adult must accompany all East Aurora high students.
· An adult must accompany all non-Waldo students.
· Students from alternative schools are not allowed on school property.
· All students must remain in the gym at all times. Any student who exits the school may not re-enter.
· The adult supervisor at the west end of the gym should monitor the bathrooms. The restrooms on the first floor are to be used for all spectators. (Several students should not be using the restroom at the same time).
· Spectators should demonstrate good sportsmanship and remain seated during all events.
· Spectators may not make derogatory comments toward the players, coaches or officials.
· If unsportsmanlike conduct arises, politely remind the spectators of Waldo’s expectations. Please report any major concerns or issues to the administrator on duty.
· The adult supervisors should ensure that all spectators exit the building at the end of the event. Please remind students to make phone calls/texts for rides prior to the conclusion of each event

CPR-AED

In August 2013, Public Act 098-0305 took effect. This act requires the IHSA to be given a CPR/AED training video to post on its website so that staff /parents can watch. D131 encourages everyone to watch this important life-saving video.

CPR-AED

 

RCP- Resucitación cardiopulmonar (CPR), y Primeros auxilios (AED)

En agosto del 2013, la Ley Pública 098-0305 entró en vigor. Esta ley requiere que la Asociación de Escuelas Secundaria de Illinois (IHSA) proporcione entrenamiento por video de RCP y Primeros Auxilios, publicado en su página de internet para que los padres y el personal puedan verlo. El Distrito les recomienda a todos que vean este importante video que puede salvar vidas.
