Waldo 8th Grade Promotion InformationWaldo 8th Grade Promotion Information

Dear 8th Grade Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

8th grade promotion will be held on the following dates/times and will occur in the auditorium at East Aurora High School.

Cowherd: Wednesday May 29th 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Simmons: Wednesday May 29th 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Waldo: Thursday May 30th 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Grades will be reviewed on May 17th to identify students that have not yet met the standards for promotion.  Students who do not meet the requirements by the 17th may be added to the ceremonies later; however, their names will not be included in the program.

Students must be in attendance prior to their scheduled promotion.  Students will be transported to EAHS on busses, which will leave 45 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.  Students are also required to return to their school on the busses as well.

School dress code will not be enforced the day of the celebration.   Students, however, are expected to dress appropriately for school.  Girls may wear dresses and skirts provided they are at, or below, fingertip length.  Shoulders, chests, backs and midsections must be covered, and shoes should be comfortable enough to wear all day.  Boys should wear pants that fit appropriately around the waist with a button down shirt or polo.  Jackets and ties are welcome but not necessary.  Students that are dressed inappropriately will not be permitted to attend any of the day’s events.

Balloons and flowers will not be permitted in the school.  These bouquets make it very difficult for those seated in the back to see the stage.  Adults arriving with balloons will be asked to store them in the car until the ceremony ends.  If you choose to walk and arrive with balloons, you will be required to leave them outside.  Also, any banners, posters, or signs will not be allowed.  All children coming to view the assembly must be escorted by an adult and remain seated with the adult for the duration of the program. 

Students will be dismissed to go home from school at the end of the normal school day (3 p.m.).  If you have any additional questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to call the school.  We look forward to seeing you at the ceremony.

La promoción de 8º grado se llevará a cabo en las siguientes fechas y horarios y se realizará en el auditorio de East Aurora High School.

Las calificaciones se revisarán el 17 de mayo para identificar a los estudiantes que aún no han cumplido con los estándares para promoción. El día de la celebración no se aplicará el código de vestimenta escolar. Sin embargo, se espera que los estudiantes se vistan apropiadamente para la escuela. Las niñas pueden usar vestidos y faldas siempre y cuando estén en la punta de los dedos, o más largas. Deben cubrirse los hombros, el pecho, la espalda y la sección media, y los zapatos deben ser lo suficientemente cómodos para usarlos todo el día. Los niños deben usar pantalones que se ajusten adecuadamente alrededor de la cintura con una camisa o polo con botones. Chaquetas y corbatas son bienvenidas, pero no necesarias. A los estudiantes que estén vestidos de manera inapropiada no se les permitirá asistir a ninguno de los eventos del día.

No se permitirán globos y flores en la escuela. Los ramos de flores hacen que sea muy difícil para los que están sentados en la parte de atrás poder ver el escenario. A los adultos que lleguen con globos se les pedirá que los guarden en su coche hasta que termine la ceremonia. Si elige caminar y llegar con globos, se le pedirá que los deje afuera. Además, no se permitirán pancartas, posters o banderines. Todos los niños que vengan a ver la asamblea deben ser escoltados por un adulto y permanecer sentados con el adulto durante la duración del programa.

Los estudiantes serán despedidos de la escuela al final del día escolar normal (3 p.m.). Si tiene alguna pregunta o inquietud adicional, no dude en llamar a la escuela. Esperamos verlos en la ceremonia.
